“I remember playing in my grandmother’s backyard as a kid; trying to build a house with sticks and branches I found, and clearly organizing the layout of the different spaces.”

Miriam leads with questions rather than solutions to foster a dialogue about what’s important and meaningful to the development of the design and the criteria of users. As a Project Architect, Miriam immerses herself and her clients in a participatory-based design process. She relishes teamwork and loves working with a knowledgeable group of people at BNKC. Since joining the BNKC team, she’s played a crucial role in the Serra House project which, deservedly, is her favourite project at the firm. Miriam obtained her degree in Colombia, where she was born, and worked with dedication to become a licensed architect in Canada. She considers it her greatest accomplishment to date.
