Taking the Lead: Defining Roles and Impact
Miriam serves as a Project Architect and Contract Administrator, focusing on overseeing projects through their construction phases. Her role is essential in ensuring that projects are not only completed according to the design intent but also meet financial and quality standards. “It’s about managing the financial aspects of the project, prioritizing what’s needed, and making sure that construction is progressing smoothly and within budget,” she explained. Miriam’s deep knowledge of contract administration and her attention to detail make her a cornerstone of BNKC’s project execution.
Mehreen, in her role as a Project Manager, is involved in projects from the very beginning. She initiates project kick-offs, aligns teams on strategic goals, and manages work plans to keep everything on track. “I enjoy being the point person for clients and chairing meetings with consultants,” she said. Mehreen’s ability to manage complex projects while fostering collaboration has been instrumental in the success of BNKC’s various initiatives.
Reflecting on her promotion, Miriam shared, “This promotion is a milestone in my career, and it represents the trust BNKC has in my growth. When I joined, I was drawn to the firm’s collaborative spirit and focus on mentorship. Being promoted to Associate motivates me to contribute even more to the success of our projects and our team.”
For Mehreen, this new role is an opportunity to step into greater leadership responsibilities. “BNKC has been a place where I’ve been encouraged to think boldly and challenge myself,” she said. “This promotion allows me to bring a broader vision to the projects and support others as they grow in their careers.”

This role allows me to help shape how we approach projects and support our team as we grow.”

When asked about their most memorable projects, both associates pointed to experiences that were not just technically demanding but also personally fulfilling. Miriam reflected on Serra House, a project that involved complex heritage considerations, sharing, “It was challenging, but the satisfaction of blending modern design with historic architecture was incredible.”
For Mehreen, a current multi-residential project stands out for the collaboration it requires. “The teamwork and problem-solving that goes into achieving our client’s vision makes it a highlight of my career so far. It is a true testament to what can be achieved when everyone works together.”

Advice to Future Leaders
As new Associates, both Miriam and Mehreen had words of wisdom for those aspiring to leadership roles. “Be open to learning from every experience, even when things don’t go as planned,” Miriam advised. “And never be afraid to ask questions or bring new ideas forward.”
Mehreen emphasized the value of resilience and adaptability. “Architecture is ever-evolving. Embrace change, stay curious, and keep pushing the boundaries of what you can achieve.”
