Located in Tampa, Florida, this project redeveloped six blocks of Tampa’s aging downtown into a thriving, mixed-use neighbourhood centre of 220 town-homes and apartments. These residential developments are integrated within a redesigned 30,000 sq m commercial space, combined with street-retail along the major streets and residential units above.
All elements of the design are focused around a 0.2 ha formal village green with palm trees and low vegetation that frame a central fountain and community building. The Old Hyde Park Village received international recognition as a forerunner of “new urbanism” and resulted in advancing the Village’s registration as a National Historic Neighbourhood.
