10720 Yonge is a mixed-use residential development at the intersection of Yonge Street and Elgin Mills in Richmond Hill. The project features two residential towers on a loop-shaped podium. The towers, designed with slanted, ribbon-like forms, diverge from the podium to minimize their impact on the courtyard and rooftop while creating enhanced outdoor terraces and green spaces.
The podium’s rooftop offers extensive indoor-outdoor amenities, encouraging use by residents of both towers. Its porous, fluid design activates the Yonge and Elgin Mills streetscape with a variety of commercial spaces. Breezeways and mews, flanked by lobbies and retail areas, blur the line between the inner courtyard and the street, fostering a seamless public realm.
The site’s overall concept and architecture promote a dynamic and inviting living environment, with a mix of rooftop amenities and landscaped spaces in a park-like setting to the south. The building’s terra-cotta skin, with varying spacing, size, and color, complements the dynamic massing, while subtle undulations in the terra-cotta louvers enhance the visual effect, harmonizing with the building’s form.
